Early Recovery Services

A therapeutic approach to recovery and fulfillment

creating a safe space to foster your healing and growth

HelpIng you gain clarity to acheive your goals

Helping others was always part of my life plan but there was a time when I completely lost sight of this. I struggled with addiction from ages 17-23 and everything in my life suffered. Through therapy and recovery, I was able to recognize the damage my actions caused, and this gave me the opportunity to heal my relationships. Working through past trauma had a big impact on my ability to build self-worth and as a result my goals became clear. I am a proud wife and mother of two boys and the relationships with my family have never been better.

As I began to build my practice, I knew that I wanted the name to be meaningful and this led to Early Recovery Services. Early Deane III was my great uncle. He was an intelligent and hilariously dry man who had a positive and joyous impact on our family. He also followed in the footsteps of a long family history of alcoholism. However, he was the first and only family member to recover. I always knew how long he had sober because he began his recovery journey the same year I was born. Early Deane III passed away in 2019 with 32 years of sobriety. I am honored to be able to acknowledge his achievements and help others in his name.

Addiction Counseling

Substance abuse disorders will have a detrimental effect on your life and the loved ones around you. Therapy can help individuals be accountable and motivated to make the necessary changes in life, gain self-awareness and learn healthy coping skills to help manage the urge to self-medicate.

Couples and Family Counseling

Everyone deserves strong family connections! Regardless of the life circumstances that bring couples and family to therapy, I will create a safe space to help foster healthy communication. In the words of Herman Melville “We cannot live only for ourselves. A thousand fibers connect us with our fellow men; and among those fibers, as sympathetic threads, our actions run as causes, and they come back to us as effects.”

Trauma Counseling

I am a firm believer that all humans will experience trauma in their lifetimes. Trauma is subjective and so are the effects. Our brains are wired to help us survive trauma, but the lasting effects can cause maladaptive behaviors that can make life unbearable. There are many different approaches to processing trauma, and all are affective. It’s all about you and what you are comfortable with. You may not have had control over the traumatic events, but you have control of your healing journey!

About the therapist

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) in the state of Texas and have years of professional experience with addiction, anxiety, depression, and trauma counseling with individuals and families. My passion lies in working with clients who struggle with addiction, and I believe that each individual embarks on a unique journey to recovery. My therapeutic approach stems from a belief that human development and childhood events play a significant role in behavior including substance abuse. I embrace the counseling process and assist clients in processing past traumatic or disturbing events to foster personal growth and have been trained in one of the leading therapeutic interventions for trauma, eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR). I passionately believe that humans are tribal beings and need each other for support and healing. Working together we can achieve fulfilment and create a peaceful, joyous life!
